To play an audio CD, the "config.sys" file must include a command to load 
the CD-ROM driver.  

Example: 
  DEVICE=C:\CDROM\DRIVER.SYS /D:MSCD001

(The [MCI] CD Audio driver must also be loaded by loading "mscdex.exe" in 
the "autoexec.bat" file.
