MIDI - Newbie Issue 1
If you have trouble getting MIDI In or MIDI Out to work, please do not assume
that you need a replacement CD-ROM. CD-ROMs are very durable. If a CD-ROM was
indeed defective, the Install Shield would have failed and you would not have
been able to Install the program. A different CD-ROM or a new Download (for
Downloadable products) will NOT fix the lack of communication between your
Computer and your External MIDI equipped Keyboard.

Also, the fact that you may have never experienced any problems with a system
or that it is 20 times more powerful than the requirements is irrelevant. Most
likely, none of the other Applications in your system need to use MIDI as our
program does, and even 512 Terrabytes of memory would not fix a MIDI problem.

That said, you are more than welcome to try a third party utility that will
help you diagnose your system's MIDI functionality. This utility is called
"MIDI Monitor" and can be found on our FTP Download Files Area of our Web
Site under each program that uses MIDI.

Before you proceed, please read the article below this one titled:
"MIDI - Newbie Issue 2 - MIDI Monitor Testing Utility"
where we provide step by step Instructions as to how to use it.
