Q: Can I use more than one AudioTron on my home network?
A: Yes. You can connect as many AudioTron units as you have network
connections. Best of all, every unit can access the same digital music
library, so someone can be playing Madonna in one room and you can be
listening to Beethoven in the next.
*****************************
Q: If you have multiple computers & AudioTrons on the Lan, can you control
each Atron unit through any computer on the Lan?
A: Yes. You can do this through the Web Server, using the unique IP Address
of each Atron unit you wish to call.
*****************************
Q: Is there any interference with phone communication when using HPNA?
A: There is no interference with phone communication when using HPNA.
*****************************
Q: Can I turn my computer off and still play AudioTron?
A: You can, with something called Network Attached Storage (NAS), which is
basically a hard drive with a power supply attached to your network.
You can put all of your music files on the NAS and then turn off your PC
because AT will then stream the music from the NAS drive.
As an added benefit, all of the music on the NAS server is also accessible
from any PC on the network, as well as other AudioTrons on the network.
*****************************
Q: Can the AT find music on a NAS storage unit such as a Quantum Snap Server?
A: The AudioTron at this time does not directly support a Quantum Snap Server
specifically, but it supports other manufacturers' NAS storage units
such as: Linksys & NetGear. For Quantum Snap Server there is a workaround
available under the article:
"NAS "Network Attached Storage" server workaround"
*****************************
Q: Can it be set to NOT look for music on certain computers in the LAN?
A: While it cannot be set to "ignore* certain computers in the Lan, through
the Web Setup Interface you can setup Shares to tell it where to look.
*****************************
Q: How does it deal w/ deletions/name changes of files on other computers?
A: When it comes to filename changes or deletions on a client in the Lan,
the AT will not update its information about the files until the next
time you ask it to "Search For New Files". Thus, it will ignore and skip
a deleted file.
*****************************
Q: Can you have connected both the Digital (S/PDIF) and Analog (RCA)
Outputs at the same time?
A: Absolutely. In fact if you are lucky enough to have both Analog & Digital
equipment, it is recommended to do so for TurtleRadio: A good number of
internet radio stations are still broadcast at 22kHz. The optical (S/PDIF)
output supports sampling rates 32kHz & 44kHz, therefore, it will not play
a 22kHz broadcast, at which point the Analog output will take over.
*****************************
Q: Can the Audiotron work without a pc. I would like to stream directly
off the internet without the need for a PC.
A: If you want only to stream directly off the Internet, you can do it
without a PC using a Router. If you also want to play music from a local
source (not internet) you can do it with NAS device that will store all
your music. Network Attached Server.

Q: I utilize an internet radio service via musicmatch jukebox and am curious
whether there is a way to send the signal through the audio tron so I can
play this service over my home stereo with out the need for a separate
hookup beyond the audio tron. Musicmatch streams the audio to my pc in
cd quality and I enjoy the service. Maybe I am asking too much of a system.
Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
A: While we can't do MusicMatch Radio (that's a pay service that they like to
keep close to themselves) there are hundreds of high-quality stations that
we provide for free, and you can always add you own (Again, with the caveat
that you have to be able to have public access to the stream, which
MusicMatch does not make available.)
*****************************
Q: Can I move to the AT to the office and somehow stream audio from my home
PC? If so, how do I do that? With the new AT coming out, I need to find
good use for my current one.
Here is my setup at home:
Windows XP pro
Linksys firewall
DSL modem
A: You would need to set up a shoutcast server and a VPN between work and
home. The problem will most likely be Firewalls and IT policies at work.
*****************************
Q: Do the Mp3s and Wavs decode inside the AudioTron?
A: Yes, mp3s do...wavs aren't compressed so there's not much decoding to do.
*****************************
Q: Can the AT remote control learn ir commands from another remote control
(ie. volume control or powering on or off for a multizone keypad, namely
Russound A-Bus or Nuvo zoned amp)?
A: No - the AudioTron Remote is not a learning remote - However - if you do
have a learning remote, there are ccf templates for the codes available
at www.turtlebeach.com
*****************************
Q: How can I set it for continuous play?
A: Select Title then ALL Songs. If you want to keep restarting it after it
plays the files, push the Repeat button.
*****************************
Must the PC be ON?
A: If you have your Router plugged into your DSL or cable mode, no PCs
have to be ON in order to play Internet Radio. If on the other hand you
are playing local music that is stored on the PC, then the PC has to be
ON so the Atron can play them.
