Q: Don't you have to download MP3s from the Internet?
A: Not exclusively. You can download MP3s, and that's one of the great things
about them. The song files are small enough that you can download new
music. Just think: now you can download promotional songs from your
favorite artists' new albums to see what they sound like.
But you can also create MP3s of any quality out of your existing CD
collection. This way you don't have to track down that CD you're looking
for anymore, whether or not the kids have it, etc. You can just play the
songs automatically.
AudioTron comes with its own digital jukebox, AudioStation, which allows
you to "digitize" your CDs into any number of file formats with a click
of the mouse. It takes your CD's songs and loads them to your hard
drive, where you can then listen to them exactly like you would listen to
your CD. But now you have greater flexibility, because you can play your
songs in any order, make customized playlists of your favorite songs etc.
