Error: "The CD track is not a supported format"
Q: I just bought this program because I need to mix sounds from different
sources. But every time I try to use a track from a cd, like a movie
soundtrack, an error message comes up that says that the cd track is not
a supported format. How do I convert it to WAV or MP3 using audiosurgeon?

A: You cannot 'open' an audio CD track directly in AudioSurgeon. AudioSurgeon
is an audio recorder/editor and records from such sources as Line In, Mic,
    etc.

Recording (ripping) directly from CDs is most easily accomplished using
CD ripping software such as AudioStation which can be purchased on our
    website, http://www.voyetra.com.

However, what you can do is to manually record (as audio) your CD into
AudioSurgeon as your CD is playing back in a CD playback application.

In AudioSurgeon, click on Tools>Record Wizard. Select 'Compact Disc' as
    your Source.

Start recording in AudioSurgeon and then start your external CD playback
application. Once you finish recording in AudioSurgeon, you can now edit
the audio file to your liking.

Once you are finished with your editing, click on File>Save As.
Then you can save your audio track as a .WMA, .MP3 or .WAV.
