AudioStation can burn two types of CDs if your PC is equipped with a
compatible CD-R drive:
* Audio CDs contain tracks that are compatible with standard CD players
(called 'Redbook Audio' tracks.)
* Data CDs contain tracks in MP3, Windows Media (WMA) or WAV file formats,
which are compatible with the latest generation of data CD players (which
play both audio and data CDs.) Data CDs can also be used to back up the
songs in your Music Library.
AudioStation supports a wide variety of CD-R drives. If you are having
problems burning CDs, please check our website at www.voyetra.com to
determine if your CD-R drive is compatible with AudioStation.
Before burning a CD, you must first decide which tracks to include:
* If you want to include songs from the same artist, genre, or album,
click on the category in the Library tree so that the songs appear in
the Playlist pane on the right. Then click to highlight the songs you
would like to include. Note that Ctrl-Click will let you select random
songs, while Shift-Click lets you select songs in sequential order.
* If you want to include songs from a variety of sources, you can create a
playlist, as described in the section 'Using Playlists'. Once you have
created the playlist, select the list in the 'User Playlist' folder so the
tracks appear in the Playlist screen. Then highlight the songs you wish
to record to CD.

To Record ('Burn') an Audio CD
------------------------------
1. Click on the Music Library Tab and select the tracks in the Playlist pane.
2. To select songs from a variety of sources, create a playlist, as described
in the section 'To Create a User Playlist'.
3. Select the playlist you created in the 'User Playlist' folder so the tracks
in your list appear in the Playlist screen.
4. Place a blank CD-R disk in the CD-R drive and close the tray. Select the
Music Library Tab and in the Playlist Screen highlight the tracks you would
like to add to the CD.
5. Press the 'Send To' button at the top of the pane and select 'CD Recorder'.
In the 'CD Recorder Wizard', select 'Audio' to create an Audio CD.
Tip! Enable the AutoGain function if you would like AudioStation to
adjust any variances in volume levels between songs.
6. Click 'Next' to activate the CD Layout screen where you can make changes to
the order of your CD track list.
7. Press 'Next' to enter the CD Label screen, where you can choose to print a
CD Jewel Case cover and song list label for the CD you're about to burn.
8. Press 'Next' to enter the CD Write Options screen, to make the final
decisions on CD-R speed and cache settings and whether or not to run a test
before writing your CD.
Tip! Run a test before burning your first CD or after you've made any
significant changes to your system (i.e. installed new hardware
or applications).
9. Press Next to enter the CD Burn screen and press 'Create CD' to start
burning the CD (or to test the CD burn if you are in test mode). You can
create as many copies of the same CD as you like. If you press 'Cancel'
during the CD burn process, the CD will be only partially 'burned' and will
be useless.
