CDDB
CDDB - CD Artwork for Cover Image:
Q: When it connects to CDDB it gathers all info about cd, but does not always
bring me the cd cover image. I have looked through the help files,
but cannot find a way to get it to do this.

A: Depending on the CD, the Gracenote CDDB service might or might not have
the CD artwork available for the CD.

CDDB - Solution for Norton Personal Firewall 2002 issue: 6/21/02
Some CDDB2 end users who also use Norton Personal Firewall have reported
receiving the following error message from the CDDB service when the
    Firewall is enabled:

         "[40000] Decompression failed."

Symantec has notified us that they have solved this issue. If any user
experiences this problem, they can use the "Live Update" feature of
Personal Firewall 2002 to download and update the software. This should
    take care of the problem.

Q: Does this software have the ability to read the mp3 file names
(artist - song title) and update the ID3 tags automatically through use
of the CDDB online data base.

A: Sorry, AudioStation does not do this.

Q: CDDB - Can I access the CDDB servers through a firewall or proxy server?

A: http://www.gracenote.com/corporate/FAQs.html/faqset=server/page=4
The CDDB servers support access through HTTP, the same channel used by
web browsers. Almost all programs that access the CDDB servers do so
through HTTP. Most firewalls allow access to port 80 (the standard HTTP
port), so access to the CDDB service should not be a problem. If your
firewall doesn't allow web access, your only option is to convince your
network administrator to configure the firewall to enable Internet
    web access.

Some firewalls require you to access port 80 through a proxy server.
Your network administrator will provide you the address of the proxy
server and occasionally a username and password required by the proxy
server. Consult the Help or Manual for the software application you are
using to find out where to configure the internet access and enter these
proxy settings. In some cases, the software will automatically prompt you
to enter these proxy settings the first time you access the CDDB servers.

Q: I want be able to record an album onto my hard drive and then have
AudioStation look at that album on my hard drive and do the CDDB lookup
for artist album and songlist so I don't have to manually input that
    information.

A: This can't be done. The only thing that can use the CDDB lookup service
    is an actual audio CD.
