I cannot hear all of the examples in the Music Theory section. 
Windows 3.1
In Microsoft MIDI Mapper, verify that you have a port name selected for all 
channels.  (MIDI Mapper is located in the group Main -> Control Panel.)  
Open MIDI Mapper and click [Edit] to view the MIDI settings.  Look under the 
column labeled "Port" and check that no channel number has "None" selected 
for its port.  If any channel does have "None" selected for the port name, 
change the name to the same as the other channels which have a name selected. 

It may also be necessary to enter the Setup window in Discovering Music and 
change the "Play Base arrangements / Play Extended arrangements" option. 

Note: Some of the musical examples are extended arrangements.  Base-level 
sound cards are unable to play extended arrangements.  This is a limitation 
of the sound card hardware and cannot be altered in the Discovering Music 
program.
