Error: "Application was not installed correctly. Please run setup." - Win XP
Q:  I have been using "Digital Orchestrator" since 1996 and all these years it
    worked beautifully. I bought a new computer with a Pent4 and Win XP and 
    now it will not install successfully. When I click on the icon to start 
    the program I get the message: 
           "Application was not installed correctly. Please run setup."
    Is there a patch or driver to make it work?


A:  Your version of "Digital Orchestrator" is pre-Win XP that was designed 
    for Windows 95/98/ME, not Windows XP (see specifications on your CD jewel 
    case or software box). There is no Patch or ""Driver"" to Download or 
    send you, in order to make this old version work in the new Operating 
    Systems. 

    As new technologies are introduced, one would need to upgrade the software
    as well, in order to match the newer hardware and the Operating Systems 
    they are running on.   

    Our "Digital Orchestrator" series, after 8 (eight) years of a successful 
    run was retired and replaced by the "Record Producer" series. If you're 
    using Windows XP we would recommend upgrading to the new program.

    The following versions qualify for a discounted upgrade:
    * "Digital Orchestrator Pro" - Product ID starts with DOP3
    * "Digital Music Starter Kit" - Product ID starts with DMS2
    * "MIDI Orchestrator Plus" - Product ID starts with MOP3  

    If your Product ID starts with DOR200 we are sorry but that version 
    is very old and it does not qualify for a discounted Upgrade.
