Windows XP - Workaround
Q: I had "Electronic Keyboards" installed on my previous Windows 98 computer
and it worked fine. I have a new computer running Windows XP Pro. When I
try to run the program, it keeps asking to load the CD, it doesn't seem
to recognize the disk in the machine and there doesn't appear to be a
place where I can set it up. Could you please let me know how I can get
it to run on my machine? Thanks.

A: Electronic Keyboards was designed for Windows 95 and 98. It will not run
properly on Windows 2000 or XP.

That said, here's something UNSUPPORTED that may work for you:
"Please insert the Electronic Keyboards disk into the CD-ROM drive"

You should be able to correct this by creating desktop shortcuts to
each individual application. Here is the step by step instructions:

      1) Right click on an empty part of your Windows desktop.
      2) Select New | Shortcut.
      3) At the 'Command line' type in the following lines below for each
shortcut (one at a time please):

NOTE: Please substitute your CD-ROM drive letter for x:

      - Keyboard Lessons: x:\lessons\lessons.exe

      - Keyboard Tour: x:\tour\keytour.exe

      - Recording Station: x:\recorsta\rstation.exe

      - Songbook: (you can access songbook directly from the keyboard lessons)

      - Musician's Reference: x:\menu\ntutuor.hlp

      4) You will also need to copy the file 'vctl.dll' into
         C:\Windows\System.

      5) Once you have these shortcuts made, make sure the Electronic
Keyboards CD is in your CD-ROM drive.

      6) Double-click on your desired shortcut and it will launch the
         chosen application.
