Hip Hop eJay 2 - Using the original Hip Hop eJay Samples
Installing Hip Hop eJay 2 with Hip Hop EJay already installed – How do I use
all of the original Hip Hop eJay samples?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF YOU HAVE DONE A MINIMAL INSTALLATION OF HIP HOP EJAY:
If you know that you have done a MINIMAL INSTALLATION of Hip Hop eJay and
would like to use all of its samples in Hip Hop EJay 2, before installing Hip
Hop eJay 2 do the following:

Insert the Hip Hop eJay CD and go to Start > Programs > Hip Hop eJay > Setup.
Choose the FULL INSTALLATION option. After this completes, begin the Hip Hop
eJay 2 installation.

If you have already begun the installation of Hip Hop eJay 2:
When you begin the installation of Hip Hop eJay 2, you will receive the
message below if you have not done a FULL INSTALLATION for Hip Hop eJay:

This message means that you have to have all of the Hip Hop eJay samples
copied to the hard drive (this is what happens with a full installation) in
order to be able to use ALL of these samples in Hip Hop eJay 2. They must be
time stretched from 96 bpm to Hip Hop eJay 2's tempo of 90 bpm. If you have
done a minimal installation, only the samples that currently reside on the
hard drive will be converted (this is a very small percentage of the total
number of samples included with Hip Hop eJay).

If you would like to be able to use all of Hip Hop eJay's samples, cancel the
installation of Hip Hop eJay 2: press Ctrl+Alt+Del and "end task" for the top
listing of Hip Hop eJay 2.

Insert the Hip Hop eJay CD and go to Start > Programs > Hip Hop eJay > Setup.

Choose the FULL INSTALLATION option. After this completes, begin the Hip Hop
eJay 2 installation again. You do not have to do the full installation for
Hip Hop eJay 2 if you do not wish (i.e., copy all of the new Hip Hop eJay 2
samples from the CD to the hard drive), because you will need the CD to run
the software anyway.

IF YOU HAVE DONE A FULL INSTALLATION OF HIP HOP EJAY:
If you have done a full install of Hip Hop eJay, when you begin the
installation of Hip Hop EJay 2, you will receive the following message:

Choose YES to have Hip Hop eJay 2 time stretch the entire set of original Hip
Hop eJay samples so that they will all work in Hip Hop eJay 2.

Once the samples have been converted, 2 "copies" of each sample will now
reside on the hard drive - the original and the time stretched. For example,
the original file is named "h1ex014.pxd". The time stretched copy for Hip Hop
eJay 2 will be named "h1ex014!.pxd". All converted samples will have the same
name format (! is added to the name of the new file). These will appear in
Hip Hop eJay 2 with the original names as they appeared in Hip Hop EJay,
except they will have a little [h] on them to indicate that they are from the
original Hip Hop eJay program. The samples will appear in the same categories
as they did in Hip Hop eJay.

HIP HOP EJAY SAMPLE KITS
There are two Hip Hop EJay Sample Kits: Breakdances and Unplugged. If you
have installed the Breakdances Sample Kit, these samples will appear in Hip
Hop eJay with a [1] on them; the Unplugged Sample Kit will appear in Hip Hop
eJay with a [2] on them.

When you install Hip Hop eJay 2, these samples will also be time stretched and
imported into their appropriate categories. The Breakdances Sample Kit
samples will appear in Hip Hop EJay 2 with two [1]'s on them; the Unplugged
Sample Kit samples will appear in Hip Hop EJay 2 with two [2]'s on them.
These bracketed numbers will be stacked vertically, one on top of the other.)

CAN YOU UNINSTALL HIP HOP EJAY AFTER DOING THIS?
Yes - only the time stretched samples in the Hip Hop EJay folder will remain.

The program will uninstall, and the original samples will uninstall. If you
choose to uninstall Hip Hop eJay, make sure that you do not delete the Hip Hop
eJay folder that remains.

NOTE: Should you ever uninstall Hip Hop eJay 2, the Hip Hop eJay folder with
the time stretched samples will remain in the "C:\HHeJay" folder (the
uninstallation program does not look for this to remove it). After
uninstalling Hip Hop eJay 2, browse your C: drive to find the "HHeJay" folder
and manually delete it.
