Troubleshooting - If All Else Fails!
Make sure that your system has DirectX version 9.0c installed. DirectX updates
critical Windows System files, eliminating installation issues.

When installing programs it may be necessary to make sure that there are no
processes or other programs running in the background (invisibly). Every
program uses resources, and you never know what resources a program might
try to access that another program is already using (creating a 'conflict').

A good rule of thumb is to always reboot a system before installing anything,
ensuring that any recently used 'memory resident' programs are now terminated.
In some 'problem' systems, you may need to temporarily strip down Windows to
a 'lean and clean' system:

1) Task Manager
- Right-click on the taskbar, choose Task Manager
- In Task Manager, click on the Processes tab.
- In the Processes tab, click on the User Name panel to easily see the
processes that are active in the current user's profile.
- Highlight a process with the current user's name in the User Name
column and click on the End Process button on the lower right.
This will de-activate that background process, freeing up resources.

The only process you should not end is explorer.exe. Anything else running in
the current user's name can be ended and rebooting Windows will bring it back.

2) You can permanently disable undesirable background processes by
running the MSConfig utility that comes with Windows.

- Click on Start->Run and in the dialog box type: msconfig
       (available in Win XP only)
- Click OK. This will open the System Configuration Utility.
- Click on the Startup tab, where you will see a list of applications
  that launch when Windows starts.

Some entries will be obvious, such as msmsgs.exe (Windows Messenger Service).
Others will be quite cryptic, such as "issch." If you don't understand what
a certain entry is, we recommend that you leave it alone. Only uncheck an
entry's box if you know what it is and you know you don't need it.
Of course, you can run msconfig.exe again to re-enable something if you
find that you need to.

                       *****************************

If you experience performance issues, no sound, slow-down, etc. adjust:
DIRECT SOUND HARDWARE ACCELERATION:
  - You can lower this by selecting:
     Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Speaker
     Settings/Advanced/Performance.

  - Move the Hardware acceleration slider one notch to the left and click OK.
If you still have no sound, move the slider one more notch to the left.
If necessary, move it all the way to the left.

  - Select Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Audio and
change the default sound playback device to Game Compatible Device.

                                 ***

We all know how 'temperamental' Windows can be sometimes.
Please try to THOROUGHLY Uninstall the product (physically & software)
using the program's uninstall and remove procedures. Do NOT remove any
files on your hard drive (especially System Files) by yourself.

Shut down, restart your System, cleanup your Temp folder, make sure you
receive no error messages and all is good and ONLY THEN restart a 'fresh'
Installation, after you disable anti-virus, following closely the
instructions.

For PCI Cards, if the board is not detected or if there are conflicts,
try installing on a different PCI slot.
