MIDI - Newbie Issue 2 - 'MIDI Monitor' Testing Utility
*  Please make sure that: 
      - The MIDI IN cable is connected to the MIDI OUT port on your keyboard 
      - The MIDI OUT cable is connected to the MIDI IN port on your keyboard 
      - The keyboard is turned on and setup to Transmit MIDI Data

*  After extracting the midi_mon.zip file open the MIDI Monitor folder and 
   double-click on WMW.EXE to start the program


Testing MIDI In:
----------------

*  Click on MIDI In and make sure your sound card's MIDI Input port 
   is selected

*  Start pressing keys on your keyboard and you should see an entry every time
   you press a key and release it. If you see it, then MIDI Input is working
   correctly on your PC


Testing MIDI Out:
-----------------

You can also set this program to play MIDI sounds from your sound card. 
We will use our Santa Cruz for this example: 

*  Click on MIDI Out and select the MIDI Output for the sound card 
   In this example it would be Santa Cruz DLS Synth 

*  Click on OPTIONS and select THRU… 

*  Check the boxes for Global Thru and Enable Click OK. You should be able 
   to see entries when you press keys and hear the MIDI sound from the sound
   card.
