Q:  I was under the impression that I was to hear the sound as I am putting in
    the notes, and then play back the score without having to go thru a MIDI. 
    Was I wrong?  I am not hearing anything.  I have the volume turned all the
    way up, have run audio checks and everything seems to be fine.
    Suggestions?


A:  If you are not hearing any MIDI sound, please do the following:

    * In the application, click on Options>MIDI Setup 
    * For 'MIDI Output' you will probably see 'MIDI Mapper' 
    * Click on the words,' MIDI Mapper' and you will get a dropdown box with
        other options. 
    * Make sure you are seeing all of your options by using the up and down 
        arrow keys on your computer keyboard. 
    * Try selecting each option that appears until you are able to hear sound.

    If you are still not able to hear sound please do the following:

    * Click on Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment >Volume Control
    * In the upper left click on Options/Properties.
    * Be sure you are set to Playback and check all boxes in the white 
        section at the bottom.
    * Now click OK.
    * Make sure all the volume sliders are turned up and nothing is muted.
