The Bars of Rest feature allows you to display and print a Multi-Bar Rest
instead of many bars of whole rests when displaying or printing individual
parts. This saves a lot of paper when printing out parts for your musicians,
and will allow them to concentrate on playing the music instead of counting
out page after page of whole rests!
Here is what a Multi-Bar Rest looks like in Music Write:
To access the Bars of Rest feature, go to Display > Bars of Rest from the
drop-down menu at the top of the screen (the dialog that appears is explained
on page 195 of your manual).
The effects of the Bars of Rest feature will only be visible in Single Track
mode. Since the conductor score never shows multi-bar rests, they will not be
displayed in Full Score Mode. Multi-bar rests are displayed when you switch
to Single Track mode (for printing out individual parts).
Switch between Single Track mode and Full Score mode by using the button shown
below in the Score Editor window.
For printing single tracks, we recommend switching to Single Track mode and
then using Print File. Use Print Part only for parts that contain more than
a single track.
