Quick Steps for entering triplets:
1) Select the desired note type to enter from the Durations Palette
(quarter-note, eighth-note, etc.)
2) Set the Duration Qualifier (to the right of the Duration Palette) to
triplet
3) Enter the notes in the appropriate measure(s)
4) If the notes are not entered accurately by the program, set the cursor
in the appropriate measure and choose Display - > Bar from the menu.
Then set the Beat dialog for the bar to twice that of the triplet value.
EXAMPLE: If you are trying to notate quarter-note triplets, set the Beat
value to a half-note. For eighth-note triplets, set the Beat value
to quarter-notes.
5) To put a triplet bracket over the figure, click on the Symbols Button, go
to Adjust and select the triplet bracket. Draw it in over the figure and
adjust it using the control points. Enter a number by using the '+' and
'-' keys on your computer keyboard. When it looks the way you want it
to look, hit ENTER to set the bracket.
