Q:  I'm having trouble moving bar lines without affecting timing. I can move 
    notes - even across bars, but I can't move the bar lines. The spacing tool
    always selects the nearest note, not the intended bar line.
 
    I want to vary the physical length of bars within a stave. Is it possible?
    The idea is that bars containing few notes and words will be physically
    shorter than those containing more notes and words. This would reduce the
    physical length of the whole piece when printed, saving paper and 
    photocopying costs.


A:  Moving the bar line can be a little tricky sometimes. With the spacing 
    tool selected, try clicking around the area on both sides of the barline.
    Just keep left clicking until you see the barline become selected and then
    you can move it.
