PROBLEM:
We have found that on some (but not all) systems running Windows Vista,
users may have trouble registering their Music Write software. The problem
appears like so:
1) You install the program. You are able to register using your Product ID
Number, but after you've closed the program and start it again, it
'forgets' the registration and you see this dialog:
2) If you choose Yes, you see this dialog:
3) Even though you are able to register the program again, the program will
'forget' the registration the next time you launch it, and you will see
the "Thank you for trying the demo..." dialog again. The program will be
running as a Demo, not as the registered version.
WORKAROUND:
This problem is caused by Vista's new security procedures.
1) Go to your Start button, right-click on Computer and choose Explore.
2) In Windows Explorer, browse to:
C:\Program Files\Voyetra\MusicWrite\ and find the file Mw32.exe
Right-click on this file and choose Properties.
3) In the Properties, click on the Compatibility tab. Then go to Privilege
Level and put a check mark in the box "Run this program as an
administrator".
4) Click OK. The next time you run your Music Write software, you will see a
Vista access permissions screen. Click on "Allow" to let the program run.
The program should open to its full, registered version.
