Q:  How do I designate "cut time" (common time cut in half) (a big C with a | 
    line through it) as my score time signature? 


A:  As you know, cut time is basically the feel that you approach a song 
    with. There really isn't any way to have it automatically do cut time. 
    The only thing  you could do is to put it in Score Paper mode 
    (Display>Score Paper). Then manually draw in the symbol using either 
    the symbols or the text tool.
