MIDI - Joystick - do I need one connected for MIDI? 
Q:  I do not have a Joystick. Do I need to purchase one in order to
    communicate with my MIDI keyboard using the program? 

A:  You do not need to have a Joystick connected in order to receive  MIDI
    Input. The extra 15 pin Joystick female connector plug is there for users 
    who also use a Joystick for games.
