USB MIDI Cable - MIDI Test Utility in SysTray 
USB Music Studio Kit - make sure that:  
      - The MIDI IN cable is connected to the MIDI OUT port on your keyboard 
      - The MIDI OUT cable is connected to the MIDI IN port on your keyboard 
      - The keyboard is turned on and setup to Transmit MIDI Data
      - The USB MIDI cable is plugged directly into a USB Port on the computer
        and not into a USB Hub.
      - The USB MIDI Cable is plugged into the same USB Port that was used
        when you originally installed the drivers.

This utility will verify functionality of the USB MIDI Cable:
 
        After you install the Turtle Beach USB MIDI driver, you should have 
        a little icon in your System Tray. It has two little green lights in
        it that light up. If you double-click on that icon, it will open up 
        the MIDI test utility. When you press keys on your MIDI keyboard, 
        Channel 1 should light up.
