USB MIDI Cable -
The USB MIDI Cable is compatible with both types of USB ports:
USB 1.1 and USB 2.0

                            ********************

USB Music Studio Kit - make sure that:
      - The MIDI IN cable is connected to the MIDI OUT port on your keyboard
      - The MIDI OUT cable is connected to the MIDI IN port on your keyboard
      - The keyboard is turned on and setup to Transmit MIDI Data
      - The USB MIDI cable is plugged directly into a USB Port on the computer
and NOT into a USB Hub.
      - The USB MIDI Cable is plugged into the same USB Port that was used
when you originally installed the drivers.
      - The "TB USB MIDI 1x1" Driver appears in the Windows Device Manager
        without a conflict.

USB Port - Which one?
Q: Does it matter which USB port the USB MIDI cable is plugged into?

A: Yes it does. As per USB Spec, it must be plugged into the SAME USB Port
that was used when you originally installed the drivers. Otherwise, you
would need to re-install the drivers for the new USB Port.

USB Music Studio Kit - verify functionality:
Q: How do I know that the Cable is installed correctly and functions
    properly?

A: There are a lot of ways to verify this:
      - If the TB USB MIDI cable is properly detected in the little MIDI
test activity, then everything's fine with the driver.

      - If you get MIDI Input in the little MIDI test utility in the System
Tray: DETAILS: After you install the Turtle Beach USB MIDI driver, you
should have a little icon in your System Tray. It has two little green
lights in it that light up. If you double-click on that icon, it will
open up the MIDI test utility. When you press keys on your MIDI
keyboard, Channel 1 should light up.

      - Within the software: "Record Producer MIDI", there are two little
green MIDI activity lights. When you press keys on your MIDI keyboard,
        they should light up.

      - You may also use the SoundCheck utility. See below:

                            ********************

USB Music Studio Kit - SoundCheck - where is it?
Once you have installed the software, you can then click on:
    Start>Programs>Turtle Beach USB Midi 1x1>Soundcheck

                            ********************

USB Music Studio Kit - Latency:
A: If you're using External MIDI gear connected to the USB Music Studio Kit
for playback (as opposed to your soundcard), there shouldn't be any
    latency at all.

If however, you're using a soundcard driver such as a MS GS Wavetable
synth for playback, then there is going to be latency (about 1/2 second)
because that's a software based driver. This is an issue with that
particular driver (MS GS Wavetable synth), not with the USB MIDI cable
    itself.

USB Music Studio Kit - Record Mic?
Q: I am not able to find how to make the program read my input. I am plugging
in from an Amp to the line-in of the back of the computer. I also connect
my Mic to the Mic In but it will not read my computers microphone. HOW???

A: Sorry to disappoint you but this is not going to happen. The "USB Music
Studio Kit" is to connect MIDI devices (MIDI keyboard, MIDI drum machine,
etc) into your computer. A MIC is an audio device, NOT a MIDI device.

Furthermore, there isn't any software that can read audio input and turn
it into MIDI data. There is software that can record audio from your
Line In jack, but it will be recorded as audio only.

                            ********************

Q: AFTER Installation....does it matter in which order things are turned on
    or powered up?

A: All that matters is that the TB USB MIDI 1x1 actually shows up in the
Windows Device Manager. If it doesn't, then that's the problem. As long
as the USB MIDI cable is plugged in, it should show up in the Windows
Device Manager once the computer is powered on, regardless of whether
the piano is turned on or not.

                            ********************

Q: Cannot Record my external MIDI Keyboard.

A: You need to make sure that the Recording program you are using shows
the "TB USB MIDI 1x1" Driver as the Recording Source and it is not Muted
    in your Sound Card's Mixer.

Device no longer detected:
Q: I installed your cable on my laptop several months ago, and it worked.
I then unplugged it for a month or so, because I didn't need the music
keyboard attached at the time. When I plugged it back in, my computer
couldn't recognize the device. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling
and it keeps asking me to plug in the cable, even though it is already
plugged in. I've tried it in each of the three different USB ports
and it doesn't work. What should I do?

A: in some systems, when you reinstall, even though it is running XP, you
may need to reboot the computer before it can "find" the USB MIDI cable.
