Info on V-24 and another MPU-401
Q. I downloaded your Win 95 v24s driver and got it installed, installed my
MIDI interface card with no address conflicts, and still can't get my
interface to function or be recognized by my Sequencing program.
The v24s will function on in & out #1 using the standard MPU-401 driver.
Any suggestions? Please help me save my v24s from the junk pile.

A. If the MPU-401 driver is already installed, it will not allow the V24s
driver to function, as the two drivers are forced to share resources.

To install the V24s driver, the MPU-401 must be removed first.

Some systems will not allow the V24s driver to function.
Windows reports: ("Enabled but inactive due to an unknown problem").
In these systems, use the 1.53 Windows (3.1) driver- which will work fine.

Some newer motherboards do not have IRQ 9 available. In these systems,
this interrupt is used for Power Management or some other function.
(IRQ 9 is the default & favorite IRQ for all MIDI Interface cards).
In this case, try a different interrupt: 3, 4 or 7 if available in the
system. Of course, you would also need to physically change the jumper on
the card to reflect the new IRQ setting. (See the article: V-22/24 Jumper
   Settings).

SUGGESTION: If you already have installed and use the V-series MIDI
Interface in an "older" system, please keep on using it in this system
as unpredictable issues may arise in a newer system.
