Most Macs do not provide built in S/PDIF digital output capability.
Adding a S/PDIF digital output to a Mac usually requires the purchase and
installation of an expensive add-on sound card. The Audio Advantage Micro
provides Mac OSX users with a no-hassle and inexpensive alternative.
There are no Mac Device Drivers on the AA Micro CD. The Applications and
Drivers on the CD are for PCs running Windows *only*.
The Micro is fully supported in personal computers running Microsoft Windows
*only*. All info regarding the MacOS is offered on an *AS IS* and *Use at Your
Own Risk* basis - ONLY!
The AA Micro will run natively on the Mac. The term "run natively" means that
the device will not need additional drivers installed, as basic driver support
is already built into the Operating System. In other words, you plug it in and
it works!
The Mac OS will install generic USB Audio drivers that will offer *basic
stereo playback functionality* only.
To set The Turtle Beach AA Micro as the preferred audio playback device in a
Mac:
- Insert the AudioAdvantage Micro into a free USB Port
- Go to System Preferences > Sound
- Select "USB Audio" in the Selected Sound Output Device drop down
***
