Q: I have a Pentium IV laptop running under Windows XP Pro SP2. When I try
to install the software for the Audio Advantage Micro, it tells me to plug
in the device to the USB port (which I do), it proceeds with the install
and finally emerges with the message:
"Installation failed" Re-insert the
device in the USB port and re-install."
I have tried this six times. When I first insert the device to one of the
4 USB Ports, the red LED turns on for about a second and then turns off.
In none of them does the blue light turn on for the unit. When I plug the
unit into a different computer, the blue light comes on in the first USB
slot I try.
A: There should be a blue light on the device that stays on when plugged
into the USB port. The blue light should come on and stay on even if
the drivers are NOT installed.
- Try plugging it directly in to the port without the extension
- There maybe an issue with the USB ports on your laptop
- Please make sure they are turned on in the BIOS.
