* Both Drivers should be registered (without a Conflict) in the Control Panel
> Device Manager > Sound Video, Game Controllers:
- Video Advantage PCI
- Video Advantage PCI Crossbar
If they do not appear as above and you show 'Unknown Devices' under "Other
Devices" with yellow question marks then you know it is a System Conflict.
* You have the PCI card installed in the PC. You will get this error if the
card is not installed in the PC. You are supposed to install PowerDirector
*AFTER* the PCI card is installed in the PC. The PCI card must be installed
right after step 1 of the Quick Start Guide.
* Ensure that the PCI Card is SEATED properly (tight) on the motherboard.
Some chassis might be at a slight angle, so that a PCI card might be
slightly (partially) raised from the rail, causing it not to be detected.
* Any chat programs and Antivirus software is closed before installation.
* You have the latest version of DirectX and IE. Updates on these are
available from www.microsoft.com. Then install PowerDirector.
* There might be a conflict with another video capture device such as a
Web Camera or a TV Card in the System.
It might be a PCI Card or Built-on device on the motherboard. This may
cause conflicts that are typical in Windows when you install multiple
devices of the same type.
- Please uninstall any other capture hardware you may have in the system
and disconnect any USB Camera or other USB Video device.
- You might need to disable this device at the BIOS Level.
- Reboot and install PowerDirector
- Then reinstall your other capture hardware.
* If you have an HD Audio Sound System built on your motherboard such as:
"SoundMAX HD Audio", "Realtek", etc please try to install updated Drivers
for these devices from the Manufacturer's Web Site. These devices were
known to be problematic in their early stages of introduction.

Please note that Power Director must be Installed AFTER the PCI card is in
the System. The Manual and Quickstart Guide refer to running the Setup.exe
which is the Driver Installation (not the Power Director installation)
BEFORE installing the PCI card.
