The PCI Card in not seen by the PCI Bus. This can be caused by the following:
1) The motherboard is not perfectly angled at a 45 degree angle, (thus pushing
the PCI Card over on one side, not allowing all the golden connectors at
the bottom to make contact) Try without securing the screw.
2) The System BIOS is not set to recognize this PCI Slot or it does not have
resources or it is NOT allowed to use the Recources for the PCI Slot to
function.
HOW TO FIX THIS:
- You can try to use a different PCI Slot and start all over again the
installation
- If this does not help, remove an already occupied PCI Slot by another
device and swap the PCI Cards.
- Try to press down the PCI Card untill it 'snaps' in place without breaking
it. You will hear a distinctive snapping sound when a PCI Card is snug in
place.
- If none of the above work, then you might need to experiment with your
motherboard's BIOS Settings. We are sorry, we are not allowed to touch
this with an 8' pole. You may need to Reset Your BIOS Configuration
Settings, you may need to assign Resources to PCI Lines, etc. etc. Each
system has different motherboard and BIOS to support it and there is no
*one size fits all* solution. Furthermore, we could not assume any
responsibility for your own personal stuff that you might have stored
in your Computer.
