Authoring Programs Issues:
Q: I have had a problem with different software programs or hard drives that
come with authoring programs. If one computer has drag to disk, another
has INCD and another DLA, my discs burned on one cannot be read on others.
So I have settled on drag to disk with Roxio. I need to know what
authoring software is used with Video Advantage so if I buy your product
will I have conflicts?
A: The Video Advantage uses the Cyberlink Power Producer as its DVD authoring
software. As long as you do not have the Roxio software running in the
background, you should experience no problem using the Video Advantage
system.

Capture from a window 1:
Q: Is there a way to capture video directly from a window or display?
For instance, let's say I have a video game running in a stand-alone
window. Does the PowerProducer/ADCap software allow me to record that
window's contents as part of a captured video?
A: The Video Advantage will capture anything that is sent to one of its
inputs (composite, S-Video or 1394). You could hook the game up to the
video advantage and preview it in the monitor window of Ad FullCap and
record what is presented there.

Capture from a window 2:
Q: Just to make sure I understand, I would still have to output the window
to component video, then route that video through the Video Advantage
card? (Assuming, off course, my video card doesn't have S-video or
1394 outputs...)
A: That is correct. The video signal you wish to capture must actually pass
through the Video Advantage capture card.

Output in NTSC and PAL?
Q: Could you tell me if the output of the card could be both NTSC and PAL
just like the input?
A: The Video Advantage is a video capture card. It will not output a video
signal. You can burn DVDs in either the NTSC or PAL format, if this is
what you mean.

Q: I am a private investigator and this is a common problem in the industry:
1. Many of us use Sony digital 8 camera and when you download in digital
format you lose on the screen the date and time stamps. By using your
product and downloading via the phono connection shouldn’t the time
and date stamp be in place?
2. I need to provide MPEG1 files to a client, not MPEG2. Using this
camera and what it is capturing and your converters can I produce
MPEG 1 files? If I have 1 ½ hour tape, how long start to finish?
A: 1. If the camera outputs the time/date stamp as part of the video stream
then you should be able to capture it with no problem. If you require
further assistance with your Sony's features and capabilities you will
need to refer to Sony's documentation.
2. You can use the Power Director 3 DE software to capture your files
as mpeg-1 files. An hour and a half video would be roughly 1GB
(10.1 MB per min)

TV Display Size of Captured Video?
Q: I see that I can only capture with a 720*480 for with your Video Advantage
card. My question is what will that look like when I burn my movies to a
DVD and have someone play them via a DVD player on a TV? Will it just be a
little screen like it is on my PC monitor or will it fill the screen like
it does now when I play it on the TV directly from my camera?
A: It will be full size on your TV screen. As for your computer monitor, it
can also be full screen if you select it from the Video Player program;
Media Player etc. Of course, in order to save processing overhead, during
Capture the "Preview window" will be small and you cannot set it at full
screen.
