Convert the signal from PAL to NTSC?
Q: I have a Digital Video Camera with MiniDv and 1394 as well as analog
output, it codes the signal on PAL (European). My TV is NTSC or PAL-N
(South American and all TV signals are PAL-N). Can your card convert
the signal from PAL to NTSC to be able to reproduce the CD or DVD movies
on my TV using my home theater which uses NTSC...?
A: The product will capture in those different formats but it will NOT
convert one to the other.

Minimum System Requirements Question:
Q: My Windows XP system meets ALL of your minimum requirements for the
Video Advantage, very fast Hard Drive, etc. with ONE exception: It is
a Pentium III but the GHz rating is lower than the GHz rating stated
in your requirements. I know "the faster the better" but WILL IT WORK?
A: It also depends on how well tuned / configured a system is. The hardware
should work but if you do not meet the minimum spec, then capture might
suffer. It may not be smooth and you may drop frames.
*****************************
Q: Is output displayed on the monitor while capturing?
A: The capture will be displayed in a monitor Window in the application.
*****************************
Q: Does it have an output for analog video?
A: There is no video output. This is a video "Capture" device not a TV card.
*****************************
Q: Can you make the file in Adobe and then output it through the analog out?
A: There is no video output. This is a video "Capture" card not a TV card.
*****************************
Q: Can it be hooked up to a monitor and see what is being recorded on the
DV In?
A: There is a monitor window in each application that monitors the incoming
signal.

XP Support?
Q: Will the normal drivers for Windows XP support it out of the box for 2002
XP build 2600?
A: This product fully supports Windows XP out of the box.

Bundled Software:
Q: Is the capture software that comes with a card a teaser for a full
version?
A: ADFullCap is a full version. PowerDirector is an OEM version.
*****************************
Q: Would it work on slow PCs? Space & Processing Power:
A: Video Capturing is a Resource intensive / demanding process. Depending
on the Video Format and the Frame Rate, it may require up to one Gigabyte
(50 up to 100 times) more hard drive space for storage as well as CPU
processing power than Digital Audio, which requires 10 Megabytes per
Minute in Stereo at the 44,100 kHz Sampling Rate.
This is why the System Requirements are as high with ATA100 Hard Drive at
7200 RPM or better.
*****************************
Sound Card Compatibility:
Q: Which sound card is compatible?
A: Any sound card with a Line In and Mic In should work fine.
Any of our current sound cards will work:

Dual Layer Burning:
Q: Before I purchase your Video Advantage do I need to know if it supports
double layer burning?
A: The included software supports dual layer burning as long as you have
the hardware and dual layer DVD disc. However, you will receive better
if you use the dedicated software that came with your DVD Hardware.
*****************************
Q: Does this device support VFW, DSW OR WDM capture drivers?
A: The drivers for the device are WDM drivers
