Easy Test For Surround Speaker Outputs
Here's a quick and foolproof test to make sure the multiple analog audio
outputs are sending audio signal:

1) Take a standard pair of stereo headphones, with a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo
   phone plug.

2) Set your soundcard's Speaker Configuration to "6 Speaker."

3) Play an audio source. If you use a stereo sound source, such as a CD track
or an MP3 or WMA music file, set the soundcard to "expand" stereo sources
   to the 5.1 outputs.

   (Roadie only:)
The Audio Advantage Roadie comes with a 'breakout' cable that provides
GREEN, BLACK and ORANCE 1/8" mini phone jacks. Simply follow the
instructions above, but use the included breakout cable when testing
   the multiple outputs.

4) Plug the headphones into the GREEN jack on the soundcard. Do you hear
sound? If so, the FRONT speakers should work. Proceed to the next step...

5) Unplug the headphones from the green jack and plug them into the BLACK jack
on the soundcard. Do you hear sound? If so, the SURROUND speakers should
work. Proceed to the next step...

6) Unplug the headphones from the black jack and plug them into the
   soundcard's CEN/LFE (Center/Subwoofer) jack.

On the MONTEGO DDL, this is the orange CEN/LFE jack, not the "Alt Center"
   jack (also orange).

On the RIVIERA, this is the BLUE jack, which can also be used as a LINE IN
(that's why it's called the "VersaJack").

Do you hear sound? If so, then the Center and Subwoofer speakers should
   work.

If all channels test OK, but your speakers still don't play, you'll need to
contact the speaker system or amplifier manufacturer for help setting the
system up properly.
