Using Audio Advantage with Skype (Amigo, Roadie, SRM)
Our Audio Advantage (Amigo, Roadie, SRM) is perfect for use with the popular
Skype "Voice Over IP" package. Not only can you make free calls to other Skype
users, but the sound quality is really good - better than most telephone
connections!

There are some settings you can adjust for best results when using Skype with
the AA.

1) Make sure the Microphone input is muted in the AA Control Panel > Mixer
    > Playback Settings.

If the Microphone playback input is active, it will pick up everything you
are playing back, causing unwanted feedback or "echo" to be added to the
    sound of your voice.

2) Make sure the Record Source is set to Microphone, and not Stereo Mix.
If Stereo Mix is selected, any sounds received from any input will be sent
to the Recording input. Skype uses the Recording input to transmit your
voice. Only the Microphone input should be sent through the Recording
    input to Skype.

3) In Skype, you can choose to let the program make any adjustments it wants,
or you can make the adjustments yourself. In Tools > Options > Sound
Devices, there is a setting for "Let Skype adjust my sound device
settings." If checked, Skype will make adjustments automatically. This
will be easiest for you, and Skype does a great job. However, you may want
to make your own settings adjustments. If so, clear the checkbox and use
the AA Control Panel to make adjustments.

4) You can use the AA's built-in microphone with Skype, and it works
very well. You can make Skype calls with nothing more than a pair of
lightweight stereo "Walkman" headphones plugged into the AA's Out,
in tandem with the AA's built-in microphone.

Please note that the built-in microphone will work like a "speakerphone." It
will pick up any sounds around the AA along with your voice. This may not
be the best solution in noisy environments.

For noisier environments, or for better privacy, you can use a standard
mic/headphone "headset." Plug the headset's pink (mic) plug into the AA's
MIC IN jack and its green (or black) jack into the AA's S/PDIF OUT/Headphone
Output (with the headphone icon). The AA's built-in microphone will be
disabled and the headset mic will be enabled.
