Windows 2000 is a Business Operating System not designed for consumer use.
Moreover unlike Win NT, Win 2000 is based on a new Driver Modeling
architecture.
While most of our 'older' Software and Hardware will work in this Operating
System, support for these products is limited to the known workarounds posted
on our website.

If you wish to experiment with Windows 2000 using a Malibu, here are
(strictly *unsupported*) instructions how to install it in Windows 2000
(version 5.00.2195):
- Windows 2000 will automatically install the Malibu using
the Crystal WDM drivers from the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.
- Digital audio playback / record, Wavetable MIDI and FM MIDI are all
functional.
- For the MIDI In function to work, an IRQ needs to be assigned to the
MPU-401. The procedure is similar to Win 9x.
1. Right click on My Computer, click properties.
2. Click on the Hardware tab.
3. Click on Device Manager.
4. Click the + in front of Sound, video and game controllers to expand
the list.
5. Right click on Crystal WDM MPU-401 Compatible, and click properties.
6. Click on Resources.
7. Uncheck Use Automatic Settings.
8. Change Settings Based on: to Basic Configuration 0002.
9. Click on Interrupt Request.
10. Click Change Setting.
11. Change value to an IRQ (5,7,9,or 11) that will not conflict with any
other devices in the system.
- The Wavestream software synthesizer will not install, as the program
requires that Win 9x be installed.
- The SRS Surround feature will not install, as it requires that Win 9x
be installed.
- The RCA Digital S/PDIF Out will not function.
- The Microsoft Soft Synth does install but there is a MIDI delay.
