The Turtle Beach Maui is a sampling MIDI synthesizer and external
MIDI interface incorporated on a single ISA card for the IBM PC/AT.
It could be used as an upgrade to an existing sound card or as a stand-alone
MIDI product.
The Maui allowed the addition of RAM in 30-pin SIMM modules, which were
used to store custom sample banks for MIDI recording and playback.
The Maui also has a 9 pin MIDI connector that can be used with an advanced
MIDI interface with MIDI IN, MIDI OUT and MIDI THRU female connectors for
hookup to external synthesizers and MIDI controllers.
The Maui was introduced in 1994 and went out of production in late 1996.
