MIDI pinout for 9-pin connector 
Pins:

  1 = MIDI In   - => to pin 4 of Female Din 5 'In'
  6 = MIDI In   + => to pin 5 of Female Din 5 'In'
  2 + 3 short together
  8 = MIDI Thru - => to pin 4 of Female Din 5 'Thru'
  4 = MIDI Thru + => to pin 5 of Female Din 5 'Thru'
  9 = MIDI Out  - => to pin 4 of Female Din 5 'Out'
  5 = MIDI Out  + => to pin 5 of Female Din 5 'Out'

All pairs (In, Out, Thru) should be shielded to Chassis ground
