The Maui card must be initialized for General MIDI prior to setting up a 
game to use it. 

This is accomplished with the "SETUPSND" command explained on page 27 of the 
Maui User's Guide.  

SETUPSND must also be run after a Windows session is ended and prior to 
launching a DOS application using General MIDI.
