This is most likely caused by a Port Address conflict.  

Change the port settings via the three jumpers ("JP2") shown on page 12 of 
the Maui User's Guide.  Devices such as SCSI controller cards and other 
soundcards can cause port conflicts.  Changing the physical address of Maui 
will solve the problem.
