Staticky or noisy WAV playback is usually caused by a bad I/O address. Even
though there may be no conflicts shown in the Device Manager under Win 9x, it
is quite possible that this is still the problem.
1) Click: Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Device Manager->
Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
2) Select properties of the Monte Carlo 928 Audio
3) Switch to Resources Tab, uncheck "Use Automatic Settings"
4) Highlight the I/O in question
5) Click Change Settings
6) Select a different I/O address
7) You may need to reboot to have the changes take effect.
Another possibility is that the chosen DMA channel is being used. You can
change this using the same steps outlined above. The least likely culprit
in this case is the IRQ.
