1) Open the Windows Volume Control Mixer. Click Start | Programs | Accessories
| Entertainment | Volume Control. The Playback Controls will be visible.
2) Make sure the Microphone fader control is visible. If not, click on
Options | Properties, make sure "Adjust volume for Playback" is checked
and in the white area labeled "Show the following volume controls"
check the box next to Microphone. Then click OK.
3) Make sure the Microphone volume fader is not muted. Uncheck the Mute box
if necessary. You should now be able to speak into the microphone and hear
yourself through the speakers. Adjust the Microphone volume fader as
desired.
NOTE: This process applies to any other input, such as the Line In. Just
substitute "Line In" for "Microphone" in the instructions above.
