DirectX - requirements (Montego II Digital I/O upgrade ONLY)
IMPORTANT!

The following information became available after the Montego II Digital I/O
User Guide was printed.
Please read before installing the Montego II Digital I/O upgrade.

This product requires the latest version of Microsoft DirectX (version 6.0
or higher). If you are not already using the very latest version, please go
to the Microsoft website, download and install DirectX BEFORE you install
the Montego II Digital I/O upgrade.

How do I know if my version of DirectX is recent enough?

1. Open the Windows Explorer. Find the "Program Files" folder in your C:
drive and open it. Inside the folder named "DirectX" you should find
another folder named "Setup". Double click on it to open it.

2. Double click on the file named "Dxdiag.exe". The DirectX Diagnostic
Tool will open to its "Help" page. At the bottom of the System
Information list will be the DirectX Version number. This should be
4.06.00.xxxx or higher. If it is 4.05.xxxx or lower, you will need to
download and install the latest version of DirectX (see instructions
   below).

If you do not find a folder named "DirectX" in your C: drive, then you do
not have DirectX installed. Please download and install the latest version
of DirectX (see instructions below).

How do I download and install the latest version of DirectX?

1. Point your web browser to
   http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads

2. Select the operating system you are using (Windows 95 or Windows 98) and
follow Microsoft's instructions for downloading and installing.

After you have installed DirectX you may then proceed with the installation
instructions in the Montego II Digital I/O User Guide.

Note for users of Microsoft Windows NT 4.0:
-------------------------------------------
DirectX 3.0 is not included in the basic NT install. Please make sure that
you have installed Service Pack 3 or later before installing the Montego II
Digital I/O upgrade.
