If you ever need to reduce the Audio Hardware Acceleration Setting:

1.  Click Start > Run
2.  In the Open box, type dxdiag
3.  Click OK.
4.  Click the Sound tab.
5.  Under DirectX Features, move the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider
    all the way to the left.
6.  Click Exit.
