Digital recording - can I record from a digital source through the Line In?
The Line In is an *analog* input, meant to accept audio from line level
sources such as cassette decks, AM/FM tuners and audio mixers.

To record the audio from a digital audio device such as a CD player, DAT or
MiniDisc recorder, connect the analog Line Out from the digital audio device
to the Line In on the Montego II.

To make a 'pure digital' recording, you will need to use the S/PDIF connection
on the Digital I/O daughter card. This provides both coaxial (electrical) and
optical (Toslink) connections for S/PDIF digital audio transfers.
