Q: Does the Microsoft ForceFeedback and Thrustmaster Joystick work with my
Montego II sound card?
A: Yes. Both joysticks will work with the Montego II.

Q: How can I disable the game port on my sound card so that I can use the game
card that came with my joystick, instead?
A: Because all of our newer sound cards are Plug'n'Play, if you try to
directly remove the sound card game port from the device manger, it would
re-install itself the next time you turned on the computer. To use a game
card instead, you must change the resources for the sound card game port.
For example: the standard I/O range for the game port is 201-201 or
200-207. If you change the sound card to 202-202 or 204-204, you will be
able to use the game card instead.

Q: When I try to calibrate my joystick, I either get no response or the
pointer moves all around the box. What should I do?
A: Make sure that the joystick is connected securely to the game port
connector. If the pointer is jumping around in the calibration box,
there might be a problem with the game port driver.
If you installed DirectX (included with Windows 98):
1. Reboot the computer into Safe Mode.
2. Open Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager.
3. Remove the drivers for the game port.
4. Restart the computer in Normal Mode.
5. The computer will announce that it has found new hardware, which
is the game port. Let Windows reinstall the drivers. This should
correct the problem.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Why can't I feel the effects from the ForceFeedback, but I can control all
the other basic functions of the joystick?
A: The ForceFeedback uses MIDI signals to control the effects
that you feel. To get the added features from the ForceFeedback,
enable the MPU-401 port:
1. Open Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager ->
Sound Video and Game Controllers.
2. Highlight the MPU-401 port, choose Properties and then Resources.
3. Uncheck 'Use Automatic Settings'.
4. Change basic configuration to '0002'.
5. An IRQ will appear. If the IRQ is conflicting with another device,
change the IRQ to one available.
6. After clearing any potential conflicts, reboot the computer and the
joystick should function properly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: My joystick works in all my games, except for this one game.
What should I do?
A: I some cases you might need to calibrate the joystick within the game
itself. Consult the game's manual to find out how to correctly configure
the joystick for this game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Are there any compatibility issues with Windows 98 and the game port on
this sound card?
A: No. We have not run into any issues with Windows 98 and everything
should function normally.
