Q. Can you use a MIDI daughtercard and the MS Feedback Joysticks at the same
   time?

A. According to Microsoft, the Feedback series of joysticks either use the 
   MIDI I/O, game port or Serial cable. Depending on the MS controller driver
   selection, there may be a conflict on the MIDI I/O port. Incidentally, just
   about every sound card will have this same problem since the internal MIDI 
   connection is identical to the Gameport MIDI connection. 

SYMPTOMS:
The Force Feedback effects will cease functioning after a few seconds 
if a MIDI file is played using the MIDI daughtercard.  The Force Feedback 
effects will return if the MIDI is played from the internal MIDI synth.


WORKAROUND:
To avoid this problem do not use the daughterboard when you use the Joystick, 
or use the serial cable provided by MS on request.
