When a computer enters sleep mode, functionality of devices is disabled.
When the computer recovers (wakes up), the Montego A3D & Montego II series
cards may remain disabled. The drivers may also be missing from the Device
Manager.
In these cases, you need to reboot the computer to enable the sound card.
Disabling sleep mode will resolve this issue.
- Windows 98 supports APM (Advanced Power Management) which controls sleep
mode options. These can be accessed in the control panel.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power Management
- Motherboards that conform to the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface) specification support sleep modes. Check the BIOS for options
to disable this sleep mode.
