UPDATE:
Please note that Microsoft no longer supports Windows 98 or Windows ME
(Millennium). Some of the Microsoft links may no longer be accessible.
Although the package might list these Windows as Supported platforms,
Turtle Beach does not support them anymore. Please note that Windows 98
leaves a lot to be desired as far as USB Support is concerned.

WINDOWS 98:
Please note that you may be required to install additional files from your
Windows CD or from Updates via the Internet. Users who have kept up with the
Windows Updates in their Systems, may not need this. Windows 98 (especially
the First Edition) is an old OS that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of
new Technologies. Just think that it is 8-year old technology.
If you wish to use 'newer' Technology as USB is, you need to have the support
for it from your System. Otherwise, you are better off using the older
'Joystick Port MIDI" connection that has been around for more than 2 decades
and works quite well with Windows 98, at about half the cost of USB.

Q: After loading the software I was prompted to put in my Windows 98 disk.
Unfortunately, I do not have this software because my system came with
Windows 98 already installed on it. When I tried to cancel out of the
pop up window my computer froze. When I restarted the system I found
that I could not open up the Voyetra Record Producer MIDI Edition program.
After trying many times unsuccessfully to open it, I erased it from my
system and tried to reload. Now I am unable to open to original Voyetra
disk at all. I even exchanged it for another disk, but I am still unable
to open it.
Please instruct me on what steps to take next to load the software
and hardware (USB cable) onto my system. I also need to know if it is
possible to load everything without a Windows 98 disk available.
A: You DO need a Windows 98 CD in order to install the drivers for the
USB MIDI cable. This is because the USB support files need to be
extracted from the Windows 98 CD. Even systems with the Windows OS
pre-loaded should have a copy of the OS CD for back up. However, you
might be in luck (depending on how your OS was installed) and find the
Driver by pointing the browser to your Windows\System folder.
Replacing the CD-ROM has absolutely no bearing on this case, so you
may save your self the trouble.
Hopefully, you un-installed it the proper way by using the Add/Remove
Programs feature in the Windows Control Panel. Otherwise, 'disk format'
might be the only alternative.

NOTE:
Customers who upgrade to Windows XP report:
Improved security, richer functionality, and increased productivity.
VTB cannot offer support for these old Windows platforms that even Microsoft
no longer supports.
