USB to USB Keyboard - instead of Standard (Round 5-pin Din) MIDI In/Out connectors
Q: I am very confused with usb midi issue. I want to purchase a keyboard that
is compatible with your software. I like Yamaha. The keyboard of choice is
the: Yamaha PSR-E403. You see the thing is, Voyetra is selling the Teach
me piano series with a usb to midi connector, which has usb on one end and
a midi in/out on the other end. The Yamaha PSR-E403 has usb to usb. The
keyboard claims its a midi keyboard. But what I want to know is, would
this usb to usb keyboard be detectable by the Teach Me Piano software?

A: Our USB MIDI Cable (or any standard USB MIDI Cable) is a USB to MIDI cable
that cannot be used in this type of setup. Most electronic Keyboards
manufactured in the last three decades offer the standard MIDI In and MIDI
Out connections in the form of ports usually at the back of the keyboard.

However, there is a small number of Keyboards, (eg. Yamaha PSR-E403)
that do not have these MIDI In/Out ports. Instead they use different
connections to a computer via a USB to USB connector and require the
installation of a Driver offered by the Keyboard manufacturer.

Please note that all our MIDI related Software programs were developed
to be used with the Standard (the older Joystick or newer USB Interface
MIDI cables). Our Software is not supported and may not function as
expected with the type of Keyboards that do NOT provide the STANDARD
    DIN 5-pin MIDI In/Out ports.
