Vinyl To CD:
If your main use of the sound card is to transfer music from vinyl to CD,
either card would be fine for your use. The Riviera offers you a line in,
mic in, front speaker out and rear speaker out as well as an optical
S/PDIF output to interface with any digital equipment you may have.
The Catalina, on the other hand, offers a line in, mic in, front speaker
out, rear speaker out, center/LFE out, alt center out, as well as optical
S/PDIF inputs and outputs. The Riviera also has a 15 pin Joystick Port
for connecting External MIDI Keyboard.
The Catalina is a 8 Channel PCI Sound Card with 24 bit / 96 kHz Digital
Audio Interface, while the Riviera is a 6 Channel PCI Sound Card With
24 bit Digital Output.
The choice would come down to which card better suits your particular
needs and equipment.
