Connections - Speakers hook-up and Settings
The Outputs on the Catalina are as follows:
* Green = Front Speakers
* Black = Rear Speakers
* Orange = Center & Subwoofer
* Orange = Back Speakers
* Optical Out = Digital output when using digital speakers

2 and 2.1 analog speaker systems:
---------------------------------
    For a 2-speaker system or a 2.1 system (2 speakers and 1 subwoofer)
    - Connect the front speaker cable to the Green output
    - Set the Speaker Mode in the Catalina Control Panel to "2 Channel"
    - Use the 2 Speaker setting, even with a 2.1 speaker system

    NOTE:
In a 2.1 system the speaker system filters the low frequencies
for the subwoofer. As far as the Catalina settings are concerned,
        you have a 2-speaker system.

4 and 4.1 analog speaker systems:
---------------------------------
    For a 4-speaker or 4.1 system:
    - Connect the front speaker cable to the Green output jack on the Sound
      Card
    - Connect the rear speaker cable to the Black output
    - Set the Speaker Mode to "4 Channel" in the Catalina Control Panel
    - Turn on the Stereo Expander feature so that a stereo sound (left and
right) will play out of all 4 speakers

In a 4.1 (4 speakers and 1 subwoofer), the speaker system filters the
low frequencies for the subwoofer. As far as the Catalina settings are
concerned you have a 4-speaker system.

NOTE: The "Stereo Expander" checkbox is only available when the Immerzio
3D Gaming Support checkbox is unchecked.

6 (5.1) analog speaker systems:
-------------------------------
In an analog 6 speaker or 5.1 (5 speakers and 1 subwoofer):
    - Connect the front speaker cable to the Green output
    - Connect the rear speaker cable to the Black output
    - Connect the center and subwoofer cable to the Orange (Center/Sub) output

In these systems the subwoofer and center speaker usually share the same
    speaker cable.

    - Set the Speaker Mode to "6 Channel" in the Catalina Control Panel

You will also need to turn on the Stereo Expander feature so that a stereo
sound (left and right) will play out of all 6 speakers. When you are
watching a DVD movie or playing a Dolby Digital/DTS file, you will need
to uncheck the Stereo Expander feature to experience the Dolby
    Digital/DTS surround sound.

NOTE: The "Stereo Expander" checkbox is only available when the Immerzio
3D Gaming Support checkbox is unchecked.

8 (7.1) analog speaker systems:
-------------------------------
In an analog 8 speaker or 7.1 (7 speakers and 1 subwoofer):
    - Connect the front speaker cable to the Green output
    - Connect the rear speaker cable to the Black output
    - Connect the center and subwoofer cable to the Orange (Center/Sub) output
    - Connect your back speakers to the Orange (Back Speaker) jack

In these systems the subwoofer and center speaker usually share the same
    speaker cable.

    - Set the Speaker Mode to "8 Channel" in the Catalina Control Panel

You will also need to turn on the Stereo Expander feature so that a stereo
sound (left and right) will play out of all 8 speakers. When you are
watching a DVD movie or playing a Dolby Digital/DTS file, you will need to
uncheck the Stereo Expander feature to experience the Dolby Digital/DTS
    surround sound.

NOTE: The "Stereo Expander" checkbox is only available when the Immerzio
3D Gaming Support checkbox is unchecked.

Digital Speaker Systems/Receiver:
---------------------------------
No matter how many speakers you have 2, 4, 6(5.1), or 8(7.1) you will
only need to select Enable Digital Output in the Catalina Control Panel.
Speaker mode does not matter when you're using Digital speakers/receiver.
You will need an Optical Digital Cable (Toslink). This is available from
    www.turtlebeach.com.

NOTE: Not all speaker systems on the market use color-coded cables or
use the wrong colors for sound card connections. Please check your
owner's manual to be sure you are making the correct speaker connections
      to the Catalina.

Connecting to a Stereo:
-----------------------
You will need an 1/8-inch stereo mini jack to Dual RCA cable (available
from www.turtlebeach.com or a local "Radio Shack"). You can use the Green,
Black or Orange (back speakers) jack for this. Connect the RCA end to the
stereo's Line In. If you are only connecting to a stereo and have no PC
speakers use the Green jack and set the Catalina to 2 speaker mode.

If you have 2 speakers connected to the Green already you can use the
Black jack. Set the Catalina to 4 Speaker mode. If you have a 4 speaker
system then you can use the Orange (back speaker) jack. Set Catalina to
"8 Channel". You need to turn on the Stereo Expander feature so that a
stereo sound (left and right) will play out of all speakers. The PC
speakers and the stereo will play audio at the same time.
