IMPORTANT!  
    The S/PDIF out only sends PCM data not audio. It is up to your Receiver 
    to decode the data and send it to the correct speaker not the Sound Card.
    There are no Dolby Digital / DTS Decoders on the card, so it cannot decode
    an incoming signal. If you have Decoding Software from your DVD etc. 
    installed, then the signal will go out *decoded*. Otherwise, it will be 
    PCM DATA.

4 different songs from 4 speakers?
Q:  I would like to hook up four speakers to Catalina Sound Card, so that all
    four speakers can be controlled by separate drivers. If the card is 
    configured correctly, I should be able to hear four different songs from
    four speakers. That is to say that every speaker can play separate songs
    simultaneously.

A:  This is a 7.1 capable sound card. This means that you can play an audio
    signal through various speaker setups up to and including a 7.1 set up.
    It does not mean that you can hear 4 different songs from 4 speakers.

    For your particular purposes you really want to look into a high end multi
    output audio interface and software package that utilizes ASIO drivers so
    that you can address each port separately.
