General
IMPORTANT!
The S/PDIF out only sends PCM data not audio. It is up to your Receiver
to decode the data and send it to the correct speaker not the Sound Card.
There are no Dolby Digital / DTS Decoders on the card, so it cannot decode
an incoming signal. If you have Decoding Software from your DVD etc.
installed, then the signal will go out *decoded*. Otherwise, it will be
    PCM DATA.

Q: Will Riviera output raw undecoded data to my DAC?

A: Yes, it will.

Q: I have Windows 98 SE in my PC, can I use the optical S/PDIF digital out
for AC3 pass to my AV receiver?

A: Yes you can.

Q: I have also DVD ROM, how do I connect it to the sound card for digital
sound so I can hear AC3 on my AV receiver? AC-3 goes over the IDE cable.

A: The drive does not need to be connected to the sound card. Please make
sure your DVD software player's audio properties is set to S/PDIF.

Q: Is there a Wavetable Synthesizer on this Card?

A: The Riviera is basically an Audio Card and except for the MIDI Joystick
Port, it does not have any MIDI features (Wavetable Synth, Wavetable
    Header, etc.).
NOTE: Legacy Joystick MIDI connection & Gameport no longer supported.

Q: I just purchased your Riviera sound card to replace my Montego A3D card.
My old card has a place to hookup the modem to the sound card at the TAD
Audio input/output point. I cannot find directions or location on the
new Riviera card to make this hookup.

A: The Riviera does not have a TAD connection but you can use the AUX
    connection on the card.

Q: What does C/W stand for?

A: The C/W stands for Center/Woofer. Since the sound card features a versa
jack, it functions as both a line in and center/sub channel when set to
    5.1.
